Independence Day!

I went out early this morning to have breakfast with my dear friend Melissa and afterwards we caught the tail end of the parade at Central Park. I love Guatemala! I feel so blessed to be here, experiencing and learning about my daughter's birth country. And Independence Day is just fun! There were flags everywhere! Here's a few shots from our morning!

Flags, flags everywhere!

And a short clip of a marching band. Notice the dancing!!!

You are often at the forefront of my heart and mind - and we are praying for you as you journey through these last days in Guatemala.

One of the good aspects of being down there so long - all the neat things you've gotten to learn and will be able to share with Bella some day.

Sharon,
Thanks so much for sharing the pictures of Independence Day. I love Guatemala also, my niece was adopted from there and I was blessed to be able to accompany my sister when she went last year to bring her home. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. And, I also loved the picture of Bella. She is just precious.

Thanks for the photos. It is extremely hard to believe that y'all are still there. We should build a big Transporter to bring you to the States and send you back when they check up on you. :)

Love y'all
