How we are

Today was day eight of being inside with Bella and tension is setting in. Bella is definitely antsy and Irene and I are both a little on the crabby side. I need to interject here and just say how GREAT it is that we live in a hacienda-style house. It definitely has a down side too (flies and mosquitos) but when you're stuck inside, at least we can still get plenty of Vitamin D and sunshine.

We've (we being us fostering moms) always talked about how much we miss our favorite restaurants at home. Let me tell you, it's kinda pathetic when you ALSO start talking about how you miss your favorite restaurants here in Antigua! Yes, some places deliver, but it's a short list. Most of the time, I run to the Bodegona and grab something that I can cook for dinner that night. Blah. I miss Rainbow Cafe, Cafe Condessa, and Taco Orale and their three tacos for 10 quetzales!

And I definitely miss freedom. I miss being able to go when I want to go where I want to go.

But I'd still much rather be safe than sorry and I'd rather whine about having to stay inside than really have something to whine about!

Some highlights from the last few days: We took Bella to the grassy area in our gated community and played around, looked at bugs, picked some flowers, and skinned our faces (well, Bella skinned her face- OUCH!). We (I) went to the Post Office to pick up a package, which turned out to be a birthday gift for Bella and I from Granny. So fun!

I wish y'all could get some good take-out and not the same-old, sam-old. Are the elections on Indepenedence Day? I somehow remember that they fell around there? If it is not until Nov. then Yuk!@#@!%!#@%

Be well our friends. Kill those dang flies, or better yet, start getting that pig farm taken care of.
