The (very basic) scoop is that our agency has decided, in light of recent political events here in Guatemala (ie. the raid on Casa Quivera here in Antigua), that the safest place for our childern to be is behind closed doors. We have freedom to move about if we so choose, but if we do so, we must leave the kids at home. There is a hightened political tension surrounding adoptions right now and it is expected to continue until the presidential election is over in September. I feel strongly that we are in the best hands with FTC and, as a parent, really appreciate the precautions that they take to protect us and the children. Yes, the next two weeks (or more) are going to be difficult. Yes, it is disappointing that my birthday next Saturday will be spent inside (so much for a family dinner at my favorite restaurant!). But ALWAYS better safe than sorry!

I am so sorry for the extra stress and frustration this brings to an already difficult situation. I will be praying that everything will settle down quickly.
Love you--

PS. FYI: Netflix has movies and tv series you can watch online! Maybe that would help pass the time a little.
